Greetings:
Thank you for contacting CDC-INFO.
Here is the information you requested on immigrant visa.
Immigrant visa applicants and people applying for adjustment of status for US permanent residence in the U.S. are required to receive all age-appropriate vaccinations recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) for the general U.S. population for which they have no contraindications. ACIP has recommended COVID-19 vaccination for the general US population; therefore, it meets the criteria for required vaccinations and is a requirement for applicants eligible for and with access to approved COVID-19 vaccines (as defined in CDC Technical Instructions).
If you are scheduled to see a Civil Surgeon or Panel Physician on or after May 11, 2023 and are due for the first, second or third dose of a primary COVID-19 vaccine series, you will be required to receive the one dose for which you are due, but will no longer be delayed to complete the entire series before completing the exam. Applicants who have completed an approved primary COVID-19 series prior to the exam will not require any additional COVID-19 doses for immigration.
