Hello everyone
I am sorry I couldn’t log in recently but I have good news.
After the earthquake I submitted expedite request to NVC because I was living in Gaziantep and left my house there to move to Istanbul.
They accepted my request and sent me interview appointment on March 08.
I went to the medical examination 2 days before my interview appointment and everything went well. They sent the results directly to the embassy for our type of visa (IR1) I didn’t get any envelope.
On March 08 I went to the embassy 45 minutes before the appointment (btw they don’t allow any smart phones, backpacks or laptops so I went with just my wallet and documents. I got a number inside and when it was my turn, they asked for the documents to check first, then the officer asked me for the usual interview questions. It took like 10 - 15 minutes and told me everything is fine but I needed one more joint sponsor to upload to the system. They kept my passport until I uploaded another joint sponsor the next day (because I told her I already had one)
They sent me email that they accepted my second joint sponsor and will print my visa in few days.
So I got my passport with the visa on it and booked a flight.
USA entry was on March 20 they asked me some questions in the airport when we arrived.
Thank you everyone for your help I appreciate it and please let me know if you have any questions I would like to help.

@trbilgin
What happens if I wouldn’t update it. Because when I renewed my passport, I tried to update the passport number but it didn’t allow me to change anything after I submitted it. -

Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask how the embassy notifies you about the interview appointment. Is it a letter that you receive to your home address, or by email? -

Can I be part of that facebook group too? as I understood it has many cases like mine. -

@Handan Hi I am Syrian living in Turkey on tourist visa. My wife is American citizen.
Do you think my status as tourist permit is why our interview is so delayed? I was living in turkey on work permit visa for years and just recently switched it to a tourist permit. -

RE: IR-1/CR-1 süreci ve mülakat deneyimleri (ABD vatandaşı ile evlenip Türkiye'de Green Card almak)
Hello everyone, I am new here so I want to say congratulations to everyone who has gotten an interview appointment already. I want some help and advice for my current situation.
I am Syrian living in Turkey on temporary residence currently, and my wife is American. We recently had our first baby and my wife traveled back to give birth in US.
My visa is IR1, And my case was DQ'd on July 2nd 2022 l. I am still waiting for interview appointment in Ankara.
I sent an expedite request in August when my wife was about to give birth but unfortunately was denied. So is it normal to take that much time to receive an interview appointment? If I knew it will take much longer, I would just have my wife and baby come live in turkey until my interview. But nothing is clear and I don’t understand why our case has taken this long.
Thank you in advance, I appreciate any help since this has been a stressful and difficult process.
