We finally have our interview! It was a very long wait but they finally gave us a date. We're so happy.

Hi friends, I am new to this forum. Like many of you, I am also waiting for an interview date for my wife who currently lives in Turkiye. I am a US citizen. We've been waiting for so long for her visa. I feel a little better seeing that interviews are being scheduled for some of you.

@ufukadiyaman If she's a Turkish citizen, then you should be OK. Citizens appear to be a priority and have less than a year turnaround time.
My wife is only a resident of Turkey, born in Kosovo, and it felt as if our paperwork was lost at the bottom of a sinkhole, never to be seen again. While I was happy to see citizens getting their papers and visas completed faster, it felt hopeless for others like my wife and I who had been waiting in line for such a long time. You become desperate, anxiety starts to kick in, and all types of crazy thoughts come to mind when you see the border situation in Mexico. lol
I tried expediting through the Senate's office and Congress with no success. Immigration lawyers can't help expedite unless there's a true health, life, or death situation, in which case you don't need a lawyer to expedite. You can just file it yourself.
If you're confident some embassies are processing the paperwork faster, although she's a Turkish citizen, I would consider transferring it. But make sure to do your homework, you will have to travel to that location to complete the interview and any other requirements specific to that country.

I still can't believe we're waiting for our interview. Everyone seems to have their visa within 12-18 months. I am beginning to lose faith.

This is getting depressing. I have not heard anything from NVC since November 2022. I am going to write to them to get a status update. Does anyone have any recommendations on what else I can do to help our application move forward? Thank you all in advanced for your help.

@uogzh She is not, unfortunately. She is a Kosovo citizen.

@naja She is a citizen of Kosovo. This process with US Immigration is so frustrating. I was able to get my Turkish residency in 3 weeks. That would take an act of God to do in the US.
I see some people have their medical exams completed. Can we complete the medical examination before they call us for our interview? If so, is there a specific document we need to provide?
